Pinwheel Cards

Each month I am going to try and introduce you to a new technique. This month it is pin wheel cards.
These pinwheels can be made in any size just depends how large you make the square.

This card has a much larger wheel.....

I have used natural toothpicks but you can easily paint them for a more colourful look.

All previous photos by Danielle...many thanks Danielle, just love them.....still have a few left to use.

These gorgeous tiny pinwheels were made by Ineke as part of my 'Girls Afternoon In', a fundraiser for the Cancer Council. Thanks Ineke.

Hope you have fun with them.

Happy Birthday Felicity !

This was a card I made for my very special friend Felicity in July. She loves sewing and makes some amazing things. So this paper was just perfect for making a card for her. Unfortunately this paper has been retired but if you have some lying around this might give you some inspiration. These buttons are great for both sewing and card making.
Hope you are feeling better soon Felicity !

Happy Birthday Rebecca and Niki !!

Sorry girls this is a bit late ! A couple of weeks ago we had a birthday celebration day for two of my lovely friends Rebecca and Niki. It started with a game of golf in the rain !! These cards look much too sunny they should have had lots of mud on them ! In the evening we went to see the new movie Jane Eyre , thoroughly recommend it, finishing with dinner.
I have used the new Pennant punch to make the flag and trees. I was inspired by a card made by the very clever Cindy.
Thanks for visiting.

How quick is this year going! Have you started to think about your Christmas cards and projects yet? The INKlings team has and we thought that this month was the perfect time to host a Christmas in July blog hop. You'll find lots of great ideas provided by 16 team members’ fantastic blogs.

Sorry Blog Candy prize not available to SU! demonstrators but you're more than welcome to leave us a comment!

I have chosen to demonstrate cards and tags using my favourite stamp set 'Welcome Christmas' . Also using my favourite Christmas colour red ! sorry its a bit traditional but so is the stamp set , so its a good match. Also with the aim of showing you really quick and easy elegant Christmas cards.
Hope you like them.

This image is embossed in white on Real Red card stock. Then the back ground is coloured using Champagne Mist shimmer paint on a dauber. The image is then framed with white card and then a wider Real Red card. The Real Red card is coloured with the Champagne Mist shimmer paint to match the image.
The shimmer paint doesn't show up very well but in real life adds a nice soft shimmer. This is a closer view.

The Confetti White card is embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots or Vintage Wallpaper embossing folders. The ribbon is Organza Ribbon and the message from the Short and Sweet Stamp Set or Teeny Tiny Sentiments .

Now for the Wreath Stamp which looks lovely in  red or green. The best fun is decorating the wreath with either jewels or coloured Crystal Effects.

This is a very quick card card and looks lovely finished off with Diamond Jewels.

This stamp set also makes great gift tags .

Well that’s all from me. Next stop on the INKlings’ Team Blog Hop is the lovely
Liz's blog. Have fun and don't forget to leave a comment on each blog to win some great Blog Candy.

If for any reason you find a missing link on the blog hop head back here to find links to all the members taking part.

Happy Easter

Hope you had a lovely Easter Break. It's been  lovely to have a 5 day holiday, shame about the weather !! We have managed two trips to the dog beach in sunshine , so really shouldn't complain.

I have had lots of fun makingt these Easter Gifts using the Mini Milk Carton die. I was inspired by my team member Ariane, who made this beautiful Christmas Gift Box.

I was going to post the Easter cards I made in my classes but realise I gave them all away before I took photos. Silly me.

I will be posting cards using the new products from  the Autumn Mini catalogue soon. I love the French Foliage stamp set which is very appropriate for this time of year.

Thanks for visiting.

Ways to use the new Stampin' Up! Pom Pom trim

I thought I would try and show you a few different ways to use the new Pom Pom trim. It comes in three different colours, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight. I am demonstrating the Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango.
The first card is a 4 " by 4" card embossed with the new Framed Tulip embossing folder. The embossing has been reduced to fit the card. (n.b. there are many tutorials on the net to show you how to do this). Then I have used the new Strength and Hope Stamp for the butterfly and words. A piece of Pom Pom trim has been attached to the middle, it doesn't fray so no need to tuck under the card. A very simple way to use the trim

Another Card using this simple technique.

The trim also makes a nice frame with plenty of texture !

As the trim doesn't fray I tried cutting up the Pom Pom's and came up with these ideas. Firstly they make a nice furry looking body for the butterfly, like this

You can wind the trim around and come up with a centre for a flower

Lastly I made these tiny flowers with a contrasting centre.

Well that’s all from me.  Next stop on the INKlings’ Team Blog Hop is Clare.  Have fun and don't forget to leave a comment on each blog to win some great Blog Candy.
