November Christmas Card Class

Our bathroom has finally finished , such a relief. I will put up some pictures in the next few days.

Now I have time to start blogging again and start enjoying the Christmas season.

I have just finished a very busy week of classes to try and catch up after the bathroom break.

This is a picture of the two cards we made. The red colour is Cherry Cobbler, it is such a rich red, great for Christmas.

We also made the Cherry Cobbler card in Pear Pizazz which made a less traditional card. Here is a picture

I will be back with more Christmas ideas soon..........

Inklings Training Afternoon

A few weeks ago we had our second quarterly team training. It was lots of fun and as always we swapped cards.

I chose the Tote-ally Tess stamp set and dressed her in evening wear. She normally wears a pants suit but you can dress any way you like.

I ended up making about 20. Each one was unique with different colour hair and background paper.

I have been having a lot of fun over the last month playing with the Stampin' Up ! Sweet Treat Cups. As well as holding sweets they also make great Snow Dome Cards.

The first card I made was this one using the raindeer from the Winter Post stamp set. He is just the right size for the sweet treat cup.

To keep the glitter inside the sweet treat cup I sealed it with a piece of acetate. The hole in the patterned paper was made using the 1 3/4 inch circle punch which fits the sweet treat cup perfectly. This is the finished card.

Supplies
  • Cardstock - Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Baja Breeze Designer Paper
  • Ink - Chocolate Chip
  • Stamp Sets - Winter Post, Best Yet
  • Accessories - Gold brads, Chocolate Chip Ribbon

Just to be a bit more adventurous I tried putting water in the Sweet Treat Cup to make it look like a real snow dome. This worked really well but I don't think I would risk putting it through the mail !

This picture shows that there really is water in there ! Just one tip, don't let any water drip onto the adhesive around the Sweet Treat Cup.

Supplies

  • Cardstock - Whisper White, Glossy White, Riding Hood Red dsp
  • Ink - Riding Hood red
  • Stamp Sets - Holiday Lineup, Short and Sweet
  • Accessories - Gold brads, Riding Hood Red Stripe Ribbon

Well that’s all from me. Next stop on the INKlings’ Team Blog Hop is Michelle's blog . Have fun and don't forget to leave a comment on each blog to win some great Blog Candy.

Cyberstamp Challenge 3

The last challenge is a colour challenge. Make a card using Pretty in Pink, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and Kraft.

I love the website Clean and Simple and made this card using one of the layouts I found there.

Cyberstamp Challenge 2

The second challenge is to make a Side Step Pop Up card.

This is my version made using black card and Kiwi Kiss green designer paper.I'm really going to miss this green when it's retired in September. Its such a lovely bright green.
This pictures shows the blackcurls of paper attached to each flower.

Cyberstamp Challenge 1

Its my turn to host the Inklings Cyberstamp tonight. Its always a bit nerve racking when there are so many good stampers in the Inklings team.

Anyway, here goes.............. this is my first challenge, make a 4" x 4" card with a matching envelope made from designer paper. This is the layout for the small card.

and this is my attempt.

The envelope is made from a piece of 6" square designer paper. The white square should be a little larger than the 4" a 4" card. You need to cut a notch where the point of the white square doesn't quite touch the edge. Fold along the black lines to form the envelope. Hopefully it will become clear when you make it.

Soft Subtles Challenge Winner

Sorry a bit late but I the winner of the May Soft Subtles Challenge was Kim. Her name was drawn out of the hat by my husband who is really getting the hang of it ! Kim will win a stamp pad of her choice.

These are the three lovely entries

Annette's Card

Kim's Card

Jo's card .

Don't forget many soft subtle colours will retire at the end of August so stock up while they last.

Stampin' Up! Convention 2010

I have just returned from the Stampin' Up! Annual Convention which was fantastic. This year it was held in Sydney which was an added attraction as it is my home town.
Conventions always start with exchanging swap cards which is a great way to meet people. The picture above shows my swap cards. Click here to see a better picture in a past post.
You could give one of your swaps to Stampin' Up! and they put them on boards for everyone to see. This is one of the boards. The standard of the cards was amazing.

More pictures to come in the next post.
