First Class for 2009

Thursday night was the first class for 2009. We made two types of cards one for males and one for females. It was lovely to catch up with Felicity, Jonquil, Terese, Bev and Rebecca and hear what everyone had been up to over the Christmas holidays.
These are the cards we made
The present was made from designer paper, Afternoon Tea, from the new mini catalogue and crimped using the SU crimping tool. The crimping tool was a Christmas present and i have had so much fun with it, everything is getting crimped !!

Sale-a-Bration

Don't forget until the end of February you can earn free stamp sets for every $100 you spend.
A great time to stock up on your supplies for the year.
I have used two of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets, Botanical Blooms and Yummy, to make this very simple card. I have only used Whisper White card stock and two ink colours, Regal Rose and Always Artichoke.

More Sale-a-bration cards to come...........

Another Eastern Blooms Card !

This is another card I made on holiday in Brisbane.
I only took my Rich Regal ink spots with me so I had to be more adventurous with colour than normal. The colours in this card are Bordering Blue and Bravo Burgundy. They are stamped on whisper white card. I only took whisper white card away with me so the contrasting card was made by colouring whisper white card with the Bravo Burgundy ink spot. It actually worked surprisingly well.

Kwerner Colour Challenge # 39

I love the Pick a Petal stamp set so thought i would have a go at using it with the colours in this weeks colour challenge.
I used Real Red, Black and Green Galore card stock. The flower centre is made from So Saffron designer paper. I used a white gel pen for the stem and spots . The petals, leaves and centre were all stamped using the Pick a Petal stamp set. This challenge was a lot of fun thanks Kristina.

Kwerner Design Colour Challenge #38

I have wanted to do one of these colour challenges for months and finally I have a bit of spare time to play. I am getting very close to the cut off time so will only be able to describe the card briefly. Anyway this is my first attempt.....

I used the Eastern Blooms stamp set and the pink chunky glitter which are both in the current Summer mini catalogue.

Summer Mini Catalogue

This pretty card was made by my sister Melanie while we were in Brisbane. I think it was inspired by the tropical climate.
She used the Embrace Life stamp set and the Ginger Blossom designer paper. The red flowers were cut out from the designer paper and the larger flower was stamped onto Groovy Guava patterned paper then cut out. The card stock is River Rock.

The stamp set and designer paper are both from the Summer Mini catalogue and are available until the end of March.

Artist Trading Cards

Each month my team of demonstrators swap Artist Trading Cards. Last month we had to make them using punches. These are my ATC's and i used the Say it with Scallops stamp set which matches the Scallop Square punch. Both are from the Summer Mini catalogue. The colours are certainly celery and rose pink.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!

I hope you all had a very happy restful Christmas. I have just returned from a holiday in Brisbane to watch my son and nephew sail in the annual Heron Championship. My sister lives in Perth so we met up and watched 9 days of sailing.
Here is a picture of the boys returning from a race.

In between races by sister and I had a lovely time making cards on the balcony looking over Moreton Bay.
Here is a picture of all our handywork.

I will be showing these cards in more details over the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned !!
Thanks for visiting my blog.
